Load boards are common and useful tools for testing and validating electronic packaging systems such as VME, cPCI, and VPX.
Using the Hartmann Load boards, it is possible to create heat in the system and to test its cooling capability to dissipate this heat. Measuring the temperature on the Load boards , the homogeneity of the cooling air flow can be checked and hot spots found. This will reduce the rick of overheating and damaging expensive plug-in cards in the final set up.
Further, Load boards can be used to test if the power supply is strong enough for the required power consumption.
The Load Boards from Hartmann Electronic are outfitted with 4 sensors for temperature measurements. On the front panel there are switches and trimmers good for different voltage rails.
