Hartmann’s manufacturing process utilizes best-in-class automated assembly equipment for backplane production.  This equipment blends high mix-low volume flexibility with the capabilities to handle a wide range of components, from chips to 25mm odd form.

Key inspection stations are incorporated throughout the assembly process resulting in a consistent level of quality our customers have come to expect.  Examples of our testing protocol include:
 

PCB Incoming Inspection TEST
  • Bare boards are tested by the PCB house prior to Hartmann receiving.  Upon receipt, we use a Flying-Probe Tester to guarantee boards match with the original Gerber-Data.






      
Diameter TEST
  • The Laser Tester measures the diameter of all press-fit holes, to ensure holes are within tolerance





     

 

Soldering Point TEST
  • After the Solder Mask Printing process, each board must pass an optical inspection using a Screen Microscope

Press-fit Insertion Machine PEM 100
  • During the press-fit operation for mounting connectors, the machine automatically measures all process forces (force and distance) against the process parameters

    If the board is conformal coated, it is visually checked before and after coating.




     

 

100% Electrical Automatic TEST by WEE 3525
  • Testing includes:

  • •    250V on all connections
  • •    automatic adaption with the original connector
  • •    Capacitors, diodes and resistors can be tested
  • •    Up to 60,000 test points can be checked at one time

 

Electrical Inspection/Flying Probe Tester
  • The SPEA Flying Probe tester features 6 moving probes (4 on top and 2 on bottom) plus 4 Electroscan probes (2 on the top side and 2 on the bottom side) allowing simultaneous testing of connectors (male and female) as well as other devices distributed on both sides of the board. 

    This tester can perform all tests of the WEE 3525, as well as:

  • •    Integrated circuits
  • •    Termination
  • •    Optical Inspection

 

100% Electrical TEST by manual connection

  • -    Testing includes:
     
  • -    250V all connections
  • -    Flexible connection via cabling
  • -    Capacitors, diodes and resistors can be tested
  • -    Up to 5,000 test points can be checked at one time

 

HIGH VOLTAGE TEST
  • Manual high voltage test up to 3000 V







     

 

Functional TEST

  • Testing includes:

  • •    Testing is guided by a PC

 

100% Optical End TEST

  • Screen Microscope for optical inspection of assembled components, surface, soldering and press-fit







     


A TEST CERTIFICATE for each production lot is available, with finding of all tests completed.

RoHS Compliant

The Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances or RoHS) was adopted in 2003 by the European Union.  The directive came into effect in 2006.  This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electrical and electronic equipment.

All product manufactured by Hartmann Electronic comply with the RoHS directive.
