Hartmann’s manufacturing process utilizes best-in-class automated assembly equipment for backplane production. This equipment blends high mix-low volume flexibility with the capabilities to handle a wide range of components, from chips to 25mm odd form.

Key inspection stations are incorporated throughout the assembly process resulting in a consistent level of quality our customers have come to expect. Examples of our testing protocol include:
Bare boards are tested by the PCB house prior to Hartmann receiving. Upon receipt, we use a Flying-Probe Tester to guarantee boards match with the original Gerber-Data.

- With factory-set Non-Linear Error Correction (NLEC) calibration to ensure optimum accuracy, traceable to international standards for the purposes of ISO9000
After the Solder Mask Printing process, each board must pass an optical inspection using a Screen Microscope
During the press-fit operation for mounting connectors, the machine automatically measures all process forces (force and distance) against the process parameters
If the board is conformal coated, it is visually checked before and after coating.

The SPEA Flying Probe tester features 6 moving probes (4 on top and 2 on bottom) plus 4 Electroscan probes (2 on the top side and 2 on the bottom side) allowing simultaneous testing of connectors (male and female) as well as other devices distributed on both sides of the board.
This tester can perform all tests of the WEE 3525, as well as:
